Taylor Swift became well-known as a songwriter and singer at the beginning of 2001 when she began to write story of heartbreak. Swift began to show an interest in music from a young age and she progressed quickly from roles in theatre for children to her debut performance in front of an audience of thousands. It was at the age of 11 when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match and in the next year she picked up a guitar, and began writing songs. Inspiring herself by musicians from the country genre like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original material that reflected her experiences of growing up in a world that was dominated by tweens. At the age of 13, Swift's parents decided to sell their property in Pennsylvania in order to relocate towards Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time to courting country labels located in the nearby city of Nashville.
